Frequently Asked Questions
Do cameras need separate cabling?
IP cameras carry data and take power over the same network cable via PoE. They can join an existing office network, but camera traffic consumes bandwidth, so for medium and large installations we recommend a dedicated switch or separate run.
What is the difference between CAT6 and CAT6A?
CAT6A carries higher speeds over longer distances and resists interference better. CAT6 is usually enough in a small office; CAT6A is the better investment for long runs, heavy camera traffic, or if you expect to increase speeds later.
Do you tidy up existing tangled cabling?
Yes, it is a frequent job. We consolidate runs into a rack cabinet, terminate on a patch panel and label every line. Fault-finding and adding equipment afterwards becomes far easier.
